For your consideration are these two beautiful, original framed gouache paintings done by Idaho artist Janene Grende circa 1985. Janene Grende was born and raised in Lewiston, Idaho, and moved north to the Sandpoint area in 1974. She has been painting for nearly thirty years. She paints with gouache, an opaque media made of watercolor-like pigments. She also utilizes silk dyes on silk to make stunning paintings of horses, equestrians, cowgirls, and animals. Janene has created multiple paintings for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, twice being named artist of the quarter. She also made three additional companion prints for the RMEF banquets. She was named the Ducks Unlimited artist of the year for Idaho, becoming the first woman and the first person to receive the award twice. She was also the DU Washington State Sponsor print artist. The first painting shows a male and a female duck set in the center of the piece, looking towards the viewers left hand side, while a few strands of grass can be seen in the background. The bottom right hand corner is signed reading, "Janene Grende Ulter 1985 ©". It is matted once with black matting paper and set in a wood frame. The second piece of art work shows two grouse looking towards the viewers right hand side with some blades of grass in the background. They show similar colors and show great attention to detail. The piece is matted once with black matting paper and set in an identical wood frame as the first painting. They show good condition overall with little to no wear present on the artwork or frames. The visible are measures 6 1/2" L x 4 1/2" W, while the entire piece measures 13 1/8" L x 11 1/8" W x 1 1/2" D. The paintings have a collective weight of 3 pounds and 14 ounces.
