Featured in this lot is a rare Japanese Type 32 Model 1886 Cavalry Trooper Officers sword originating from World War II. The sword, known as the 1886/1899, was used and issued from the Russo-Japanese War of 1905 until the World War II era. The sword shows the original metal scabbard/sheath with ring connection. The sword itself has a bright blade, showing good condition with some light wear. The piece shows a metal "D" guard with the Koishikawa Arsenal Tokyo (1870-1935) hallmark and another indiscernible mark above. The handle shows a checkered hard wood grip with the metal grip handle frame having the matching checkering. This is a truly rare and wonderful piece that would make an excellent addition to any collection. The sword shows good condition overall, with some wear across the blade. The sword measures 35 1/2" long, with the blade being 30 1/4" long.
