Featured in this lot we have a Japanese single bevel Nata tool knife and sheath. The Nata Tool is a portable tool designed by the Japanese and functions similar to a machete with design features close to cleavers, hatchets, and other heavy knives. It was designed as a portable tool for clearing brush, cutting tree limbs, planking wood, along with many other uses. This piece features a heavy single bevel edged blade with hardwood handle and leather and wood sheath. The blade is marked in Japanese across the right side of the blade with the left side showing a deep fuller. The nata tool shows good condition overall with some light wear and rust on the blade. The nata measures 14" long with the blade being 6 3/4" long blade.
