Featured in this lot is a Tombstone, A.T. pumpkin seed bottle found on Jeff Milton's Property circa 1880s; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The bottle features a wonderfully and professionally crafted glass construction that shows a purple hue due to the cobalt content. The bottle comes complete with an original Museum tag that reads as follows: 1880s 'Pumpkin Seed' bottle used by the saloons when selling liquor to take home. It would have had a paper label from the saloon. Found on Jeff Milton's property. Jefferson Davis Milton (November 7, 1861 – May 7, 1947) was an American lawman in the Old West and a son of Confederate Governor of Florida, John Milton. He was the first officer appointed to the U.S. Immigration Service Border Patrol in 1924. Milton retired to Tombstone, Arizona, and then to Tucson, Arizona, where he lived the remainder of his life. Louis L'Amour wrote in his book Education of a Wandering Man that he met Milton, who bought him breakfast and gave him a ride to Tucson. The condition of this pumpkin seed bottle is well preserved with some slight wear to the bottle but otherwise shows a well preserved condition.
