For your consideration is this Archaic Period, 7000-6000 BP, Jefferson County, Kentucky 3/4 Groove Flat Poll axe and Offset Deptford axe head or Celt pair. The first axe shows a red speckled chert material construction with a tooled 3/4 groove before the poll and a flat poll seemingly used for hammering on. The second is constructed from a speckled granite material and shows an offset design with a Deptford shape to the head. The axe heads shows a wonderfully polished finish and semi sharp blade. The condition of this axe head is good, with no obvious signs of damage; the axe heads are in good display condition and have a polished finish. The measurements of this axe head are 2 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 1 1/2".
