For your consideration is this Archaic Period (7000-6000), Jefferson County, Kentucky, Offset Deptford axe head or celt collection. The first is constructed from a smoky granite material with an Offset design and a broad body; the poll is flat yet distinguished, relating to a 3/4 groove head. The second is constructed from a green porphyry stone and shows an Offset design with a broad body and a polished finish. The last is constructed from a green porphyry stone with a semi Offset design and a broad body with a rough finish. The condition of these axe heads is good, with a single chip in the blade of one of the axe heads; otherwise, they are in good overall display condition. The measurements of these broad axe heads are 3 3/4" x 7 1/2" x 2 1/4" and 3 3/4" x 7 3/4" x 1 3/4" and 4" x 6 3/4" x 1 3/4".
