This is an original sterling silver and turquoise pill box from Navajo Dine Native American Indian artist, Jeffery Castillo. The box is signed "Jeffery Castillo STERLING" and shows a traditional stamped Navajo design, with single turquoise stone set at the top and hinged lid exposing the coffin rectangular box. Jeffrey Castillo is a Navajo Dine artist born in 1949 in the state of Arizona. He grew up on the Navajo reservation and was exposed to traditional Navajo art and culture from a young age. Castillo was particularly drawn to the art of jewelry making and began studying the craft in his teenage years. Throughout his career, Castillo has become renowned for his unique style of jewelry making that blends traditional Navajo techniques with contemporary design elements. His pieces often feature intricate silverwork and intricate stone settings, showcasing his skill and attention to detail.
