Featured in this lot is this pair of stage line locks found by Jim Kidd on the stage line between Tombstone and Bisbee circa 1870 to 1890's and displayed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. There are two padlocks from a stage line coach in this collection the first is a lager and much older ad lock without a key but using a double sided key locking mechanism. The second is consistent with an older 1890's mechanism with a sliding key door and the corresponding key. Jim Kidd was a US Navy Veteran and a photographer who travelled and lived in Tombstone and associated with Stephen and Marjorie Elliot and their findings at the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum. The padlocks come complete with an original museum tag that reads as follows: Stage Lock was found on the stage route between Tombstone & Bisbee by Jim Kidd. The condition of this of this pair of stagecoach locks is preserved with the larger padlock showing much more serious deterioration due to exposure and excavation with the smaller stage lock showing some chipping to the outer layer of paint and slight oxidation to the metal underneath. The measurements of these stage locks is 3 3/8" x 2 5/8" x 3/4" and 2 7/8" x 2 1/4" x 5/8". The collective weight of these two padlocks is 8oz. EX-15, EX13
