Featured in this lot is this Gelatin Silver from the National Archives called "Indian Council in Hostile Camp," circa 1891 by John C. Grabill born in 1849 and died in 1903. This photograph is of the great council among chiefs and leaders which settled the Indian War. Photo and copyright '91 by Grabill, Deadwood, S.D. Provenance: From the Jim Aplan Piedmont, South Dakota collection. The condition of this Silver Gelatin is preserved with a small bend in the bottom left corner and to the top right but otherwise shows preserved condition. The measurements of this Silver Gelatin is 7 1/2" x 9 1/2".
