Offered for your consideration in this lot is an original Barbara Peets oil on canvas painting of John F. Kennedy, and his son John F. Kennedy Jr. fishing off of a bridge. Barbara Peets was born in Gowanda, New York, and began sketching at just three years old. Come middle school, Barbara was blessed to have a doctorate art teacher who would teach her the basics of painting, which would become her greatest strength in the following years to come. By high school, Peets was mentored by a working artist - Water Garver, who furthered her education in commercial art instruction. Barbara would end up studying commercial art at Kent State University, eventually to transition into fine arts. Barbara started moved to Salmon, Idaho in 1968, and drew most of her inspiration from nature, and considered being out in the field as important as knowing the basics of technique and color. Though Barbara is primarily known for her exceptional wildlife paintings, she dabbles in portraiture, and painted the Kennedy's numerous times in her early years. Similar works by this artist have sold for $15,000.00 and more. Overall, the painting shows very good condition, and is framed professionally in beautiful wood. The frame in which the painting is mounted measures 41" wide, and 29 1/4" tall. The piece has been examined by Barbara Peets and was confirmed as being an original work of art by her. Barbara Peet‰Ûªs original works of art are exclusively done on a stretched canvas with her Giclee Print examples being done on a canvas mounted to board. Many examples of her Giclee prints have sold at auction including the Lion in the Grass for $2,100 and currently being offered for sale the Mid Winter Billies for $8,500.
