For your consideration is this lot of three, hand woven baskets done by Butte local John Vukovich circa 1930s. Three woven waste baskets are featured in this lot with them varying in sizes. The two larger ones show a more cylindrical shape while the smallest starts out skinny towards the base and flairs out towards the top. Also included are eight rolls of thin wood used in the basket weaving process, and six of John's wooden weaving tools used in basket weaving. Written on a check it reads, "Baskets Made by John Vukovich - Grove Creek via Butte, baskets made approx. 1930, died approx. 1940". The final item is a black and white original photo of John and his wife (unnamed) standing on their property as they pose for the photo. The back of the photo reads, "Ma & Pa" in pencil. They show good condition overall with wear to the baskets from their age and use over the years, but no signs of major damage is noted. The baskets measure from 14 1/4" L x 14 1/4" W x 16 1/2" H to 11" L x 11" W x 9 7/8" H, while the tools measure from 9" L x 3/4" W to 6 1/4" L x 3/4" W. The lot has a collective weight of 9 pounds and 8 ounces.
