Featured in this lot is a rare limited edition, American Indian hunter bronze statue by Joseph Krausz. Joseph Krausz (1936-) is a Hungarian/ American sculptor known for his Native American sculptures. He was born in Hungary and moved to the US in 1956, where he was inspired by the work of Charles Russell and Frederic Remington. Krausz studied Native American culture and the wildlife in the area, producing wonderful bronze statues. This piece depicts the unfortunate turning point of a successful hunt. The statue shows a Native American hunter on the ground with his bucking horse jumping above him and a dead deer on the horse’s saddle. The piece is marked across the side, reading "85 Joseph Krausz", and is marked “1/26”, indicating it is part of a limited edition. The piece shows good condition and would make a great addition to any collection. The piece measures 20" tall by 14 1/2" long and 11 1/2" wide.
