Featured in this lot is a Kiowa mother with papoose child photograph, circa 19th century. The photograph features a wonderfully and professionally crafted monochrome construction that shows a Native American woman carrying a papoose with a child in it and a small child standing to her side all wearing trade cloth garments with a field in the distance. The photograph is marked on the back as follows: Kiowa - Mother and child. The condition of this framed photograph show a well preserved stature that shows some wear to the outside frame of the photograph but otherwise shows no obvious signs of damage to the photograph. The measurements of this framed photograph are 8 1/8" x 6 1/8" and the visible photograph measures 5 1/2" x 3 7/8".*
