Featured in this lot is a collection of Laflin & Rand Powder Co. and Dupont black powder rifle tins, originating from the late 1800's to early 1900's. The collection consists of a Dupont Powder MFG Co tin, one Laflin & Rand Powder Co. tin, and a Powder MFG Co tin. The tins display steel construction with their original lids. The Laflin shows its original tag across the top, reading "Laflin & Rand Powder Co. Orange Rifle FF G New York" with a shield at the center with manufacturing locations. The Dupont is marked with a tag, reading "Dupont FG Reg. U.S. Pat. Off", with embossed lettering, reading "Explosive Dangerous Black Rifle Powder 25 LBS". The front of the tin shows a paper tag, reading "E. I. Du Pont De Nemours & Co. INC Moosic. PA. To: V.M. Starr Eden South Dakota". The third tin is marked with embossed lettering, reading "Black Powder", with a tag across the bottom, reading "Powder MFG. Co. St. Louis". The cans show good condition overall, with some wear across the piece. The first tin measures 9 1/2" tall by 7 3/4" in diameter, the second is 11 1/2" tall by 9 1/4" in diameter, and the third measures 10 1/2" tall by 9 1/4" diameter.
