Offered in this lot is a framed, execution hanging photos and invitation, originating from late 1800's and early 1900's. The first of the pieces is a black and white photo of three lynched men with their names penned under them. The back of the piece is marked "Lynched for cattle rustling Dec 10, 1898 Elko, Nev,". The second piece shows two photos of Holmes and Thurmond, lynched for Killing Brooke Hart in San Jose, California. The photos also come with a small news article about the killing. The final piece is an invitation to witness the execution of William Clarence Gates in Missoula, Montana on July 7, 1936. The pieces show good condition overall, with some light wear due to age. The largest of the frames measure 8" tall by 12" wide.
