This is an exceptional circa early 1900 Lakota Sioux Native American Indian fully beaded children's or small moccasins. The beadwork is shown on all sides including the tops, sides, and bottoms. The set shows an Indian tanned hide construction with the entire surface covered by authentic original period correct glass trade seed beads with a chalk white base having six eight pointed stars with each piont being of a different color including greasy yellow, sky padre blue, semi-transparent lavendar, semi-transparent Cheyenne pink, semi-transparent dark blue, medium green, red white hearts. The ankle shows a wonderful fancy beaded edge with semi-transparent red. The back of the ankle and the base of the show shows a stripping similar to wide arrow fletching in sky padre blue and red white hearts. The set shows very good museum quality condition with little to no bead loss and bright wonderful color with a fine faded patina. The set appears to be manufactured with both trade thread and sinew. Each measures 6" long across the sole by 2" high across the ankle by 3.25" wide overall. Fully top and bottom beaded moccasins are exceedingly scarce and would have been used for special ceremonial important occasions.
