Featured in this lot is a large Navajo Teec Nos Pos hand woven rug, circa 1930s. The rug features a wonderfully and professionally crafted hand woven and hand dyed wool construction. The field shows hand dyed coloration with heathered coloration throughout that includes colors of light brown, off white, dark brown, green, yellow and red. The Teec Nos Pos Navajo rugs show a substantial influence from designs of Oriental origin. These bold, exciting and elaborate rugs are always surrounded by a wide border or borders of different Oriental motifs. The elaborate centers are of stylized feathers and arrows, steps and angular hooks extended from points of diamonds and triangles. This rug you can also see Valero Stars throughout the piece. The condition of this Navajo rug is is well preserved with some fraying to the border of the rug but shows no obvious signs of damage to the main weaves of the rug. The measurements of this rug are 93"L x 52 1/4"W. The thread count is 120 threads per square inch.*
