For your consideration is this large east Tennessee Hardin spear point 7500 - 10000 BP. The Large point shows an impressive length of 8 1/2" long and displays expertly knapped serrated edges and flaking, elliptical shape, and a prominent acute shoulder, with a very subtle concave base. Points such as these are found in the Midwest region of the United States, and typically date between 10,000 - 7,500 B.P.. This excellent example of a Hardin spear point shows characteristics of local chert. John Powell named the Southeastern Hardin for examples sparsely scattered across the Southeastern United States. The condition of this of this spear point shows good overall condition and preservation. Provenance: From a multi-generation artifact collection spanning 80-100 years from Las Cruzes, New Mexico. The measurements of this spear point is 8 1/2" x 2 1/2".
