For your consideration is this large wooden sign advertising for Shell Gasoline in Canada, 1960-70s. The sign is advertising Shell gasoline and reads, "We Accept Credit Cards / White Rose Canada / North Star Canada" with the shell logo set in the center of the sign. Shell Canada acquired North Star Oil Company, which operated gas stations in Manitoba, Canada. Shell then renamed the North Star Oil Division to Shell Oil Co. of Canada Ltd.. White Rose was a brand of gasoline sold in Canada by the Canadian Oil Company (COC) before it was purchased by Shell Canada in 1962. The White Rose brand was popular across the country until Shell phased it out. The wood sign shows good condition with wear present from its age and use over the years. Wood chipping present on the bottom front and bottom back side. Slight fading of paint. No major signs of damage noted. It measures 48" L x 40 1/2" W x 5/8" D and weighs 20 pounds and 4 ounces.
