This pewter sculpture from Chilmark Fine Pewter is the Civil War themed piece by F.J. Barnum. It is titled "Lee to the Rear". Barnum created many Civil War era figurines, each featuring the attention to fine details for which he became known, and this piece is no exception. Lee's waistcoat collar has insignia stars. He is featured holding his hat while a Confederate soldier holds the reins of Lee's horse. Beneath the rear hoof of the horse is the remnant of a broken rifle, and there's an open leather satchel on the ground next to the soldier. This limited-edition sculpture is a wonderful depiction of the "most beloved general" in American history. Neither the pewter nor the solid wood base shows any visible scratches. The sculpture measures 7" L x 5.5" W x 6.5" H.
