Featured in this lot is a fine pewter sculpture for Chilmark Fine Pewter by Western and Wildlife artist, Don Pollard, titled "Singing Wires". The coming of the white man meant more than just an infusion of strange people, but the intrusion of unknown structures on the Native American’s unblemished lands. This piece features a Native American warrior listening to the hum of the telegraph lines, puzzled at the meaning of these 'singing wires'. This limited edition, remarkable piece shows stunning detail and is on a solid wood base. It is in excellent condition; there are no defects noted. It measures 8.5" H x 6.25" diameter.
