Featured in this lot is a bronze sculpture called "Baby Antelope" circa 1973 by Montana artist, Les Welliver, who was born in 1920 and died in 1989. The sculpture features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze and hardwood construction of a Native American brave mounted on his horse with a shield slung across his back and a spear in his hand while he looks to his left at a baby antelope. The bronze is marked "Baby Antelope" and 'Les Welliver' and '73' on the base of the bronze. Les Welliver (1920-1989) was a contemporary American Western sculptor born in North Dakota who lived and worked in Kalispell, Montana. Les was best known for his wood carvings of Indians and his Western themed wildlife bronze sculptures. The condition of this bronze shows good overall condition no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this bronze are 15 3/4" x 7" x 12 3/4".*
