Featured in this lot is this bronze sculpture called "Winner's Circle," circa 1975 from Montana artist Les Welliver born in 1920 and died in 1989. The sculpture features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze and hardwood construction that features a jockey riding a thorough bred horse looking up in elation from winning and the horse is looking off to the left. The bronze is marked 'Winner's Circle,' and 'Welliver' with that date next to the signature. Les Welliver (1920-1989) was a contemporary American Western sculptor born in North Dakota who lived and worked in Kalispell, Montana. Les was best known for his wood carvings of Indians and his Western themed wildlife bronze sculptures. The condition of this bronze is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this bronze are 14 3/4" x 11 1/2" x 6".
