Featured in this lot is this collection of decanters from Lewis & Clark Exploration Commemoration circa 1970's. There are a total of seven decanters in this collection. The first is the likeness of Captain Meriwether Lewis in frontier clothing with his rifle braced in front of him. The next shows two of the first African American to traverse across the country York, holding a barrel and his hat in his hand. The last design is of Toussaint Charbonneau, Toussaint Charbonneau was a French Canadian explorer; Charbonneau was the oldest member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition’s permanent party, and he would outlive most of his fellows as he followed the rigorous life of a fur traders, guide, and interpreter. All of the decanters are made from Royal Crown porcelain and were designed and crafted and signed by Gary Schildt. The condition of this collection of decanters is well preserved with the corks broken on some of them but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of the three different designs of decanters is 13 3/4" x 4" x 3" (Merriweather Lewis), 13 1/4" x 6 1/2" x 4 3/8" (York), 12 3/4" x 5 5/8" x 3 1/2" (Toussaint Charbonneau). The collective weight of this collection of decanters is 16lb 12oz.
