Included in this lot are two original, signed Lily Tolpo oil paintings, “Two Medicine Peak 1953” and “The Marmot Palace 1995”. Lily Tolpo (1917-2015) was the wife of artist Carl Tolpo. She was known as an American painter, sculptor, and designer who worked from Illinois studios for over six decades. The first oil painting is named "Two Medicine Peak" and depicts the stunning Two Medicine Lake and Sinopah Mountain that is located in the southeastern section of Glacier National Park. Tolpo included a family that is playing alongside Two Medicine Lake. This piece is signed "Lily Tolpo 1953" at the bottom left of the painting. The second oil painting is named "The Marmot Palace". This 1950s western figurative landscape painting by Lily Tolpo portrays a sunny scene of children playing and feeding marmots on a boulder outcrop with a pine forest in the background and a marmot in the foreground in Rocky Mountain National Park. This painting is signed "Lily Tolpo 8-17-55" at the bottom center of the painting. These paintings measure 16" by 12".
