For your consideration is this Los Caprichios No. 20 "Ya Van Desplumados" or "There They Go Plucked" by Spanish artist Franscisco Goya published in 1799. Los Caprichos were withdrawn from public sale very shortly after their release in 1799, after only 27 copies of the set had been purchased. due to the Spanish Inquisition. The prints were an artistic experiment: a medium for Goya's condemnation of the universal follies and foolishness in the Spanish society in which he lived. The posthumous impression shows a gaggle of women chasing with brooms out plucked chickens with the faces of men; and a statement at the bottom saying 'ya van desptumados' which means "there they go plucked." The posthumous impression shows good condition with some wear to the frame, but otherwise in good display condition. The measurements of this framed print are 14 3/4" x 11 1/2" and the visible art measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".
