This lot features a great example of a Marlin Safety Model 1892 lever action rifle chambered in 25-20 W.C.F. (Winchester Center Fire) caliber. This rifle was manufactured in 1897. The rifle features a 26" full octagonal barrel, wonderful walnut stocks, blue'd finish, fixed sights and steel crescent buttplate. The Winchester Model 1892 was designed as an improved lever action to compete with this Marlin Safety 1892. The top of the barrel is marked, "Marlin Fire Arms Co. New Haven CT. U.S.A. Pat’d Nov. 19. 1878. April 2.1888. Aug. 12. 1890. March 1. 1892.” The rifle tang is marked, "Model 1892” and the top of the receiver is stamped “Marlin Safety”. Serial Number: 146536. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
