Featured in this lot is this marquise tanzanite, diamond, and 18k white gold ring. The ring features an electronically tested and stamped 18k white gold ring construction with an 'Orianne' hallmark and an '18k' stamp next to the hallmark. The center stone is a marquise shaped natural tanzanite gemstone with a total carat weight of 3.07 carats; it shows fine blue purplish color with a fine cut and clarity. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The center stone and pave shoulders are profusely decorated with round brilliant cut natural diamonds with a total weight of 0.66 carats, VS clarity, and a coloration of G - H. The piece comes complete with IAS (Independent Appraisals Services, a GIA certified lab IAS Appraisal Number#: 37321EW) report and appraisal, confirming the above info and giving a total value of $8,780.00. The ring size is US 7.
