This is an outstanding massive store display size bear claw necklace in sterling silver with turquoise and branch coral as well as a Sterling Grizzly Bear effigy from Navajo artist Kenny Ray McNeilly Jr.. This is the largest squash blossom we have ever offered, by and far. The piece is hallmarked, "Kenny Ray McNeilly Jr. STERLING". The naja squash by itself is 7.5 inch long by 5 inches wide and shows a sterling silver setting with large polished cabochon of Kingman Turquoise framed in radiating oval polished cabochons of deep red branch coral with silver spot nuggets in between. At the bottom of the squash shows two massive Bear Claws set in sterling silver with classic Old Pawn stamped silver spot nuggets and heavy leaf feathers with a Kingman Turquoise polished cabochon on each and in between a large three-dimensional Grizzly Bear / Brown Bear effigy with graduated spotted silver on either side. The heavy necklace strand is strung with Old Pawn style 1930's-1940's U.S Mercury Dime concho / concha pearl beads with a domed finish, each being 90% coin silver totaling 60 beads (120 coins total). There are also ten large blossom pendants, each having a large "X" sterling silver bead end with massive Bear Claw encased in sterling silver with the same matching Old Pawn style border each having a polished cabochon of Kingman Turquoise atop as well. The top shows two massive sterling silver cones with one being stamped, "Kenny Ray McNeilly Jr. STERLING" as well as a large thick handmade sterling silver clasp. This necklace would approximately hold a $30,000 retail price and is the only known of its size. The naja claws are about 3 3/8"L each by about 1" at its widest whereas the other claws are about 3"L each (measured diagonally, along the back of the claw it measures 4.25"L for the bottom claws and 3 7/8"L for the blossom claws). When laid flat the necklace measures 22.5 inches long from the back of the clasp to the bottom of the squash. The necklace is about 32.5"L from clasp to clasp. Total weight of 997.7 grams.
