Included in this lot is a Mauser "byf/42" Code Model 98 .243 caliber bolt action rifle. The top of the receiver ring is marked "byf", the wartime code for the Mauser factory, and "42" for the year of manufacture; the left of the receiver is stamped with an eagle proof. The left side of the receiver is also marked "Mod.98". The rifle has been upgraded to a 24 ½” Flaig's Ace barrel. The barrel has a raised front sight and adjustable Lyman rear sight. The original stock has been replaced with a sportorized version in beautifully figure walnut. Serial Number: 3944p. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
