This is an exceptional and rare Mayan figural fertility pipe from the Clem Caldwell collection. The pipe dates to circa 500 A.D. and shows a terracotta pottery style construction. The piece depicts a Mayan man with an erect penis. These type of phallic symbol pipes were smokes as part of intensive fertility rituals.
