Featured in this lot is this colored lithograph of Meta-Koosega originally from McKenney & Hall later published by E.C. Biddle in 1837 was entered into the Library of Congress. The artwork is wonderfully and professionally crafted colored lithograph construction. The lithograph features Meta-Koosega wrapped in a trade cloth outfit with a coin medallion around his neck. Original, early (possible first) folio edition lithographs hand-colored at publication by various artists, notably Charles Bird King. The lithograph is marked as follows: Meta-Koosega - A Chippeway Warrior - Published by E.C. Biddle, Philadelpia - Drawn Printed & Coloured at I.T. Bowen's Lithographic Establishment No. 94 Walnut St. - Entered according to act of Congress in the Year 1837 by E.C. Biddle, in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the Eastern District of Penn. The condition of this lithograph shows well preserved condition with some wear and browning to the paper and is previously taken from a book but otherwise shows well preserved condition. The measurements of lithograph is 19 7/8" x 14 1/4".
