Featured in this lot is this Mehlville point from the Late Archaic Period and aged from 4,000 - 3,000 B.P. The point features a large, broad, triangular basal notch point with a flattened cross section and is excurvate. The point features a semi serrated blade edge and was knapped from milky brown to brown chert material. The condition of this point is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this point are 3 7/8" x 1 3/4" x 1/4".
