The lot features a Metis-Cree beaded hide scout jacket circa 1920-1930's from a Northern Montana collection. The jacket exhibits Indian tanned buckskin hide thread sewn in a classic scout jacket pattern showing frilly buckskin fringes across the chest, back and bottom edge of the coat. The jacket is accented by floral beadwork across the shoulders, front pockets and across the top of the back. The beadwork is all trade seed beads in various colors and has a nice whimsical design. The jacket displays very well and shows good condition with no major damages or little to no bead loss. Measures overall 58-inches wide from cuff to cuff by 29-inches high from the collar to the bottom fringes by 19-inches from shoulder to shoulder seam.
