This is a rare Michael Kabotie Lomawywesa / Lomawywisa Hopi micro inlay / multi-stone inlay sterling silver ring dating to circa 1970-1990's. The vintage ring is signed with a K, documented as being used by Michael Kabotie on his rings, larger pieces were stamped with the Lomawywesa / Lomawywisamark. Michael Kabotie Lomawywesa / Lomawywisa was born September 3, 1942 in Shongopovi, Arizona to Alice Talayaonema, a traditional Hopi basket weaver, and the Hopi artist Fred Kabotie. Michael was a renowned silversmith artist and a member of the Hopi tribe in Arizona, USA. He was known for his unique style that blended traditional Hopi designs with modern techniques and materials. The ring shows inlaid stones of lapis, coral, turquoise, Number 8 Mine Spiderweb Turquoise with sterling silver separation and one missing stone. The ring is signed K and STERLING and is in a size of 11 US. Weight of 8.7 grams.
