The blanket shows a solidly constructed two layer blanket with its heaviness and texture coming from the woven horse hair used to decorate and insulate the sleigh blanket. Carriage blankets served 2 purposes including keeping muck off clothing and the wearer and for warmth during cold weather. The blanket shows decorations of woven floral bordering and decoration with two swans floating peacefully in a pond or lake. The blanket is stitched with the name of "Chase". The condition of this sleigh blanket is good with no obvious signs of damage and wear consistent with its age. The measurements of this sleigh blanket are 51 1/2" x 55".
