Featured in this lot is this Montana prison-made license plate, circa 1928. This license plate features coloration of greasy yellow with black lettering and reads, “T3-764 - MONTANA - 28.” The first prison-made plates were issued in 1928, and “MONTANA” was spelled out; plates prior to 1928 were manufactured out of state. Approximately 127,215 plates were manufactured in 1928. The condition of this license plate is good, with some wear to the license plate and oxidation consistent with the age of the license plate. The measurements of this license plate are 5 3/4"x 13 1/2".
