For your consideration are these salesman sample or toy saddles, circa early 1900's. The original saddlery shop salesman sample most likely dates to the early 1900's and is a rare find. The sample saddle would have been used to show off the countless options a saddle maker can contribute to the right custom saddle, showing the type of harness, the stirrups, and latigo keepers are attached to; it also shows types of tooling consistent with saddles of the time. The one saddle says “Montana” on the fenders and has a twisted leather rope. The condition of these salesman samples is good, showing slight aging to the leather. The measurements of this salesman sample are 12" x 9" x 13".
