Offered in this lot is a Custom Western Juniper Rustic Burl Log Bed. This impressive high character handcrafted log bed features gnarled, twisted wood sourced from high-altitude regions of the western United States. Headboard, footboard, corners and side rails display knotty round, twisted burl Juniper logs. Western Juniper is a highly durable, rot-resistant, and sustainable softwood, with its ideal rustic aesthetic, characterized by a creamy sapwood and reddish-brown heartwood with frequent knots. Growing at elevations between 2600' and 9800', Western juniper lumber is noted for its durability and high compression strength, and in the state of Washington, it is known as the most drought tolerant tree species. Common names for this species include "western juniper", "sierra juniper", "western red cedar", and "yellow cedar". This stunning log bed is in very nice condition, logs display a rich patina throughout. Measures 81"W x 102"L x 60"H, weight is 445lbs. This bed was a custom made piece which cost over $12,000.
