Featured in this lot is this beautiful, New York Standard Watch Company pocket watch manufactured in 1906. The New York Standard Watch Company, founded in 1885 in Jersey City, New Jersey, operated until 1929, producing millions of watches, primarily low-grade models. While they offered some higher-grade options, the majority of their output featured 7-jewel movements. The company ceased operations in 1929. This pocket watch is a grade 60, model 8, size 18s, seven jewel and features a hunting movement configuration. The movement setting is a lever and the plate is 3/4. It has not been adjusted and is not railroad graded. When opened, the movement is marked with the serial number reading, "5016701", while the case is marked reading, "Premier / 200107". The face of the watch shows a white background with black roman numerals and black lettering reading, "New York Standard Watch Co. / U.S.A.". The pocket watch chain is marked reading, "LMFG .Co / 1-20 12k". The watch will tick when the movement is moved by hand, but will not wind or tick on its own. Overall it shows good condition with slight wear present from its age and use, but no signs of major damage noted. It measures 3 1/8" L x 2 1/4" W x 5/8" D. The chain measures 14 1/4" L x 7/8" W.
