Featured in this lot is a pair of vintage original Navajo Artie Yellowstone 14k gold sterling silver earrings, signed by the artist, featuring her signature "Rising Sun" dome design in 14k gold, centered on square sterling shields. Artie Yellowhorse is known for her contemporary designs that incorporate high-quality stones and materials with an exceptional quality of silverwork. The influences of her Navajo heritage are apparent in the beautiful wearable art, which evolved out of generations of artistic talent. Families have been known to bond in many different ways. For Yellowhorse family members, fine jewelry design is their common thread. Influences of the Navajo culture, blended with the bold fashion of the southwest, creates beautifully refined American art with a multi-generational evolution. Yellowhorse is a third generation Navajo jewelry artist from the Towering House Clan. The Yellowhorse trademark "Rising Sun" design is one of their most popular collections with its round or oval-domed center surrounded by small 'drops' or beads of silver – each one made by hand. These 14k gold & sterling silver earrings are in good condition, slight scratches from normal use, no other marring noted, the total weight of these earrings is 13.2 grams and they measure 15/16" L x 15/16" W x 3/8" H.
