Featured in this lot is this Navajo checkered saddle blanket, circa 1950's. The saddle blanket shows a unique pile woven checkered design from naturally dyed weaves, with a single side with a fringe. Navajo Saddle blankets have been woven for 140 years; the earliest Navajo saddle blankets were made out of natural red bayeta, indigo, and hand spun yarn and were woven in a single saddle size blanket. The condition of this saddle blanket is fair for its age, with wear consistent with age. The measurements of this saddle blanket are 27" x 27".
