The lot features a handwoven wool rug by Navajo weaver Alice Anagal with a nice banded chinle Canyon de Chelly pattern. The rug is accompanied by a note stating the rug was collected directly from Navajo Alice Anagal in May 2006, Alice was the Navajo guide at Canyon de Chelly. Alice Anagal is a member of the Navajo tribe from Chinle, Arizona with few examples on the collecting market and this being a fine representation. The rug shows hand spun and dyed wool having a nice fine tightly woven pattern with good detail in this rare banded Chinle Canyon de Chelly pattern in colors of black, dark red, dark grey, white / cream and a light grey. The rug is well kept showing no major damages or bleeding. The tight weave has an approximate knot per square inch of 156 (26 by 6). Measures overall 36" by 26" including the fringe / tassels and 28.5" by 22.5" without.
