Featured in this lot is an Original Navajo Dean Brown Petit Point Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Sterling Silver Pendant Necklace and matching Petit Point Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Sterling Silver Earrings. Artist's hallmark "DB" and "Sterling" are stamped on reverse of the pendant. Navajo silversmith Dean Brown (deceased) was the late renown artisan jeweler Kirk Smith's nephew. Dean apprenticed under his famous uncle, and was successful in his own right, producing old style jewelry similar to Kirk's. Dean was one of the up and coming young Navajo artists who had already gained a following on their own. The sterling silver figaro cable chain is affixed to two separate petit point Sleeping Beauty turquoise mounted braided sterling silver rods and bead ropes with two additional petit point Sleeping Beauty turquoise cabochons bezel mounted on each inside vertex angle. The round petit point Sleeping Beauty turquoise Sterling SIlver pendant has two sterling silver rope designs in concentric circles surrounding a round inner Morning Sun petit point Sleeping Beauty turquoise design which has a petit point Sleeping Beauty turquoise in the middle of a sterling silver braided rope. The inner Morning Star is surrounded by a larger round petit point Sleeping Beauty turquoise Morning Star. The Sterling Silver fish hook earrings feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted sterling construction that shows a dangle design with rubber stoppers. The condition of this necklace and earrings is very nice with no obvious signs of damage and shows very good overall condition. The measurements of this pendant necklace from lobster clasp to pendant is 11.75"L and the pendant measures 1.75" diameter; the earrings measure .75" diameter. The collective weight of the pendant necklace and earrings is 36.2g.
