Presented in this lot is this Navajo Diné Herbert Tsosie White Buffalo Sterling Silver Bolo Tie. The bolo tie has a wonderfully and professionally crafted sterling silver, turquoise, and leather construction. Bolo features a large sawtooth bezel mounted triangular shaped White Buffalo turquoise cabochon with silver Navajo Dew Drops and feather designed stamped silver slide, black leather cord and stamped silver decorative aglets. Reverse is stamped "HT" and "Sterling". The Navajo hallmark "HT" belongs to master silversmith Herbert Tsosie, a talented Navajo artist from north of Holbrook, Arizona recognized for his intricate craftsmanship in sterling silver and high-quality turquoise. Tsosie began silversmithing at the age of 15. He draws heavy inspiration from the rich heritage of Navajo traditions, which is reflected in his use of traditional motifs like leaves and "Navajo Dew Drops". Tsosie has been featured in Arizona Highways magazine alongside other legendary Southwestern jewelers such as Jesse Monongye and Richard Tsosie. His work is held in high regard by collectors. The condition of this Navajo bolo tie is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition, rich patina noted throughout. Measures 21"L, collective weight is 52.3 grams.
