This is a Fabulous Old Pawn Navajo Second Phase Sterling Silver Concho Belt, circa 1880-1900. The concho belt displays ten scalloped edge oval conchos with beautifully intricate stamped designs, the square-shaped buckle mirrors the oval conchos. The Second Phase style emerged in the 1880s, with a new advancement: the introduction of soldered copper or silver loops. This innovation revolutionized concho design, opening up the center of the concho for decoration. Cold chisels, files, punches, and stamps became the tools of choice, enabling artisans to create more elaborate designs with precision. The conchos display rich patina throughout, in nicely preserved condition. Buckle measures 3"W x 3.5"L, belt is 58.5"L. Combined weight is 1lb, 4oz.
