Featured in this lot is this Navajo Germantown Yei-Bi-Chei rug circa 1900. The rug features a traditional Germantown design with geometric patterns on either side of the center piece, and the center piece features three Yei Bi Chei figurals with stalks hanging from their elbows. Yei bichei, or "maternal grandfather of the yei", is another name of Talking God who often speaks on behalf of the other Holy People. The colors on this rug are green, brown, red and yellow with some off white coloration. The condition of this rug is good with a tightly woven weave and in good overall condition. The measurements of this rug are 34" x 17". Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector, Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman, which was both part museum and gallery. Identification#: E1111
