Featured in this lot is this sterling silver and white buffalo turquoise necklace from Navajo artist Herbert Tsosie. The necklace features six smaller white buffalo turquoise cabochon pendants with a single larger white buffalo cabochon inlaid into a sterling silver pendant. The White Buffalo stone originates from the Tonopah Nevada area; it is found in the same general veins as Dry Creek turquoise but has no copper content. The White Buffalo gemstones show a beautiful matrix of black host rock and clear white gem quality stone. The artist’s hallmark can be seen on the back of the central pendant, with a 'sterling' mark underneath. The condition of this necklace is good, with no obvious signs of damage; it shows very slight patina adorning the backs of some of the pendants. The measurement of this necklace from clasp to clasp is 22" and the measurements of this cluster of inlaid pendants are 1 1/2" x 8 3/4". The weight of the necklace is 44.5g.
