Featured in this lot is this Sterling Silver and Kingman Turquoise Belt Buckle by Navajo artist Herbert Tsosie. This stunning buckle features a wonderfully and professionally crafted sterling silver and Kingman turquoise construction that shows a tooled and decorated design with feathers, silver beads, braided silver rope and geometric patterns and a large oval Kingman turquoise cabochon serrated bevel set in the centre. The buckle is stamped on the reverse, "HT - Sterling." Herbert Tsosie, a talented Navajo artist from north of Holbrook, Arizona, has been creating beautiful, handcrafted jewelry for over 45 years, drawing inspiration from his rich Navajo heritage. He is recognized among the top Southwestern jewelers. He has been featured in Arizona Highways along with other greats like Jesse Monongye, Richard Tsosie, Boyd Tsosie Gibson Nez, James Little, and Larry Golsch. His wife, Bernie, is also an artist and together they blend tradition, skill, and cultural heritage into each piece, bringing timeless Navajo artistry to life. The condition of this polished Navajo buckle is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this buckle is 2.25" x 3.125"L, collective weight is 57.8gms.
