Presented in this lot is a Vintage Navajo Diné Gerald Mitchell Sterling Silver and Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Sand-cast Squash Blossom Necklace and Sterling Silver Earrings set. This fabulous old style necklace features a wonderfully and professionally crafted sterling silver and Sleeping Beauty turquoise construction showing a double-string Navajo Pearl design that include blossoms constructed from sterling silver and a central naga pendant that shows sterling silver design with Yei hands and three serrated bevel mounted Sleeping Beauty cabochons and silver beads. The Navajo squash blossom necklace symbolizes abundance, fertility, and protection, blending Spanish/Moorish influences with Native design, featuring "blossom" beads (likely pomegranates or squash flowers) and a crescent "naja" pendant (protection/womb), representing wealth, status, and cultural identity, often worn for special occasions and passed down as heirlooms. The necklace is marked 'GM' and 'Sterling' on the backside of the naja pendant, is marked "Sterling" on cone ends at the hook clasp. The condition of this necklace and pair of earrings is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition.
